There are several options available for aftercare. You may prefer to bury your loved pet at home, though this can be made difficult in certain living arrangements or can cause distress if you plan to move from your property in the future. It is important to contact your city ordinates to find out if pet burial is legal.

We work with a local third-party crematory. We trust them completely and know that they provide excellent and compassionate service to our valued clients.

Cremation Services
After your pet has passed, you may elect to have your pet cremated. There are several options available which we can discuss with you prior to our visit. If you choose to have Sweet Dreams handle your pets cremation, there is nothing needed to do on your part. After the euthanasia has been performed, we will transport your pet to our third-party crematorium facility. Your pets remains will then be shipped to your location (typically within a week).

Individual or private cremation means that your pet will be the only pet cremated at a particular time and you will receive his or her ashes. Pricing for cremation depends on the size of your pet and can be discussed over the phone.

  • Special urns may also be purchased for your pets’ remains -- these can be chosen at the time of your appointment.
  • Engraving is available on many of the urns.

Communal cremation is available at a discounted flat-rate since you will not be receiving ashes after cremation. This is essentially a means of caring for the body if you do not desire to have return ashes and do not have an adequate place for burial.

Memorial Urns
We believe that pets are an important and engaging member of the family whose loss results in the same grieving process as would losing any other family member. We believe your pet deserves the same respect.

We offer a wide variety of memorial urns to choose from. Displaying one of these urns within your home make for a wonderful reminder of the pet you loved.

We also offer one of a kind artistic urns. Each urn is signed and numbered by the artist, painstakingly finished with the highest quality materials, then hand-buffed to produce a warm reflective surface.

Taking time to Grieve
Losing a pet can be similar to losing a family member.
It is not an easy thing to experience and grieving is necessary. Everyone is different in their grieving process and I encourage families to allow everyone in the family to grieve differently.

Take time to grieve the special relationship you had with your pet. Some people spend more time with their pet than extended family members and friends, so treat the loss accordingly.

One suggestion is to plant a flowering perennial in honor of your pet. Every spring, when the plant blooms, you can be reminded of your loved pet.
